Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the Dining Room from 8.30 to 9.30 and and may be shared en-famille.Set yourself up for the day with one of our delicious breakfasts. We offer a wide choice of top quality locally sourced produce to suit all tastes. Our breakfast menu offers an array of fruits, continental meats, cheeses, fruit compote, cereals, yoghurt, porridge and fruit juice. We then offer a traditional extensive menu of cooked dishes, including vegetarian, vegan and seasonal options. Fruit juice, Tea coffee and toast are in ample supply. Home baked croissants are available to order.
You may need an early startand we can usually accommodate all your needs, if you can give us overnight notice. If you prefer to take breakfast in your room we can arrange for a continental style breakfast to be served.
Lunch / Dinner
We do not generally provide lunch / dinner as there are many excellent places to eat within easy driving distance. We can provide you with contact details for these... (Links Below)
We are also within 13 miles of Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire,
where you can enjoy the widest range of culinary treats.
As an option
we can provide you with a picnic basket or packed lunch to enjoy during the
day. Why not book these in advance and let us know your preferences.
Retreats, and quiet days generally include full catering, where we pride
ourselves on home baking and cooking to suit your specific requirements. We
do not claim to be master chefs!
If take-aways are more your style,
crockery and cutlery and the dining room are all on offer.
Afternoon Tea
By prior arrangement we can provide a special afternoon tea to suit any
specific dietary requirements. Tea generally includes a selection of
delicate finger sandwiches from, smoked salmon and cream cheese, creamy egg,
ham and chutney, pickled cucumber, goats cheese and walnut, prawn
mayonnaise, coronation chicken etc and supported by home-made cheese scones,
sweet scones with jam and cream, home made cakes.
For special events your
celebration tea can be lifted to another level by the addition of a glass of
Prosecco each with plentiful pots of tea to follow.
Afternoon tea can be
taken on the terrace or Hermitage decking, when weather permits, or if it is
less warm the Garden room, Dining room or the Large sitting room can be set
aside for you.
Honesty Bar
We are fully licensed and have an "honesty bar” offering a wide selection
of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Just help yourselfand enjoy it in the
comfort of your own room, lounge or garden terrace and just tell us what you
have had when you leave. If you want to order champagne please let us know
so that we can serve it well chilled.
Celebrations
If you’re joining us for a special celebration why not pre-order from our
special treats to be awaiting your arrival.
These can include bottle of
Prosecco, specialist chocolates, bouquet or vase of flowers. We generally
require a few days advanced notice so that these items can be sourced from
our range of local suppliers at prices to suit your budget.
