 COVID 19:policy and procedures

High Dalby House and Cottages
As ever the health and safety of our guests is of paramount importance, as is our commitment to ensuring that our home is a welcoming home from home for you.
We take our responsibility with regard to COVID 19 very seriously. To this end we are following government guidelines, and appreciate guests’ cooperation in playing their part so that their well being and that of others is not compromised. If directives change we will update our procedures and communicate them to you and provide any additional information.
We want to provide certainty for our guests, flexibility if circumstances change, and to reassure you that we are providing industry best practice in such matters as hygiene routines, whilst still allowing guests to enjoy their stay.
Our friendly service and attention to detail remain the same, and our beautiful home and extensive grounds are still to be enjoyed.

Cancellations

Any cancellation more than 7 days before arrival is free of charge, after that we would normally seek payment of one nights accommodation. However, in these testing times we will be more flexible and take each case on its particular merits

Before arrival
We will send you a copy of the steps we are taking to ensure that your accommodation remains as safe as possible.
We will send you a copy of our guest information that would normally be found in your room.
We will ensure that all steps have been taken to sanitise communal areas and your room.
We will ask you to provide us with information about any special needs you might have, and if you require a hospitality tray.
We will ask you to provide us with a dedicated check in time to help us ensure social distancing.
We will ask you to provide us with full contact details for registration, GDPR and tracing so that you can be advised should there be any contact with someone showing possible Coronavirus symptoms.

Check in
On the reception desk guests will find your key, a sanitising station which includes plastic overshoes, hand gel and paper towels. Our welcome may be socially distant but we will be delighted to welcome you and answer any queries you may have.
If possible we would ask that guests look after their own luggage.

When guests are here
Guests can expect that we will do everything possible to make stays as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. We are on hand to resolve any concerns they might have.

Accommodation
A further sanitising station is to be found on the landing. Guests are asked to be diligent in regular hand washing, coughing or sneezing into a tissue or if not to hand the sleeve and minimising touching their faces.

Rooms
Although we may have to remove certain items from your rooms, your room should still be impeccable, comfortable and hospitable. We have removed dressing gowns, hospitality trays, and hairdryers, but please ask if you would like to have one.
Guests should find that we meet the highest room servicing schedules. We conduct full sanitisation on touchable surfaces, including switches, door handles, tv remotes, etc.. Linens are professionally cleaned.
We allow a minimum of 24 hours between bookings. The house will not be fully occupied.
During your stay we do not enter your rooms to service them to minimise contact with guests’ belongings. We will collect rubbish etc from outside your door.

In your bathrooms you will find paper towels, hand gel and cleaning wipes, not that we expect you to do the cleaning! The hand-wash in the dispenser is all anti-bacterial
New toilet rolls are provided at each changeover
If you need anything, just ask.

Communal areas
To ensure that guests are able to feel relaxed, we have organised dining and sitting arrangements in a way that enables you to be socially distant. There is plenty of garden furniture and we would encourage you to enjoy the clean air and beauty of the grounds.

Honesty bar
If guests wish to avail themselves of this facility, please ask us to serve drinks.

Breakfast
Our tables are socially distanced, but guests may be asked to agree a specific time to enjoy breakfast.
Our usual buffet may not be apparent but all items can be chosen from the menu and we will serve you. We are determined that breakfasts remain as wholesome, varied and delicious as always.
Guests may also take breakfast in their room.
In the kitchen and to serve you we will be wearing PPE.

Unwell guests
We encourage guests to stay home if they feel unwell or if they believe they may have been exposed to the virus. Our cancellation policy will remain particularly flexible, particularly in cases of illness.
If at any time guests feel unwell, they should determine if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID 19, self isolate, and seek medical advice.

On departure
Guests can settle the bill through BACS, or pay by card following social distancing. The machine is sanitised between transactions.

We trust that guests will have had a relaxing and safe stay and that they carry away many happy memories and come again in less stringent circumstances .
